Nebraska and Akron Delayed Due To Weather

We will have to wait a little while longer for the start of the Frost era at Nebraska

Those waiting for the debut of Scott Frost and the 2018 Nebraska Football team will have to wait slightly longer. Mother nature has decided not to cooperate and has delayed the Huskers opening game against the Akron Zips.

Earlier this evening, the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Lincoln and surrounding areas. Not only are conditions conductive for severe thunderstorms, but there is a flooding concern as well.

NCAA regulations stipulate when a game must go into a delay. The current NCAA policy requires that play be suspended if there is lightning within 8 miles of the stadium. It requires a 30 minute delay, but this may vary because the time count will restart if a lightning strike occurs within the 8 mile radius.

Alternate topics:

  • Predict Nebraska’s first offensive play call
  • What would happen to lightning if it dared strike Scott Frost?
  • How long will Nebraska Nice last if the weather doesn’t clear up?
  • What did you think of the Tunnel Walk?
