Keyshawn Johnson JR Won’t Be Returning to Nebraska

Freshman wide receiver looks for other opportunities

Freshman wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson Jr announced this afternoon he does not intend to return to the Huskers. The Calabasas, CA native was influenced to sign with Nebraska due to his father’s relationship with former coach Mike Riley. His stint in Lincoln was a story of missed opportunities, first held out of spring practice with appendicitis, then pulled back home to figure things out after some off-field incidents.

Keyshawn Jr will presumably look to sign with a program closer to home. That would probably be a better fit for him overall. We wish him the best. This puts extra pressure on WR recruiting, pushing the needed number closer to five for this class.
