Flakes: Can I Talk To You On the Jet Bridge?

Jill recounts the week’s travels and highlights a great week for Husker men’s gymnastics. Also, there is a College Football player with one leg and a 101 year old woman won a sprinting gold medal.

I was in North Carolina all of last week and I now realize that you probably did not get an episode of Corn Flakes last Wednesday. My apologies.

With all of the news around people being bumped from flights, it was an interesting week for me to travel. Every flight was full. On my way home, a guy was near the back of the plane. He came forward after a bit and took his seat in the same row as me. He then looked to the back and said loudly (but not yelling) “I tried guys”. A few minutes later, the flight attendant came and asked if he could speak to him on the jet bridge.

That guy did not get back on the plane. No one else came on to fill the seat.

I have no idea if that little bit of loud speaking was enough to get him booted or if there was another reason. He honestly didn’t seem unruly once he sat down. I wasn’t right next to him, so I couldn’t tell if he had been drinking or showed obvious signs of impairment. Fortunately, my flight didn’t end up on the news.

On a different note, both Husker softball and baseball played in-state rivals last night. The softball team held on to beat Creighton by a score of 5 to 4. The baseball team broke out the big sticks as they hit three home runs, including a grand slam by Schleppenbach, against UNO. Unlike the struggles last time they faced the Mavericks, the Huskers cruised in this one by a score of 13-2.
