Who will make the final cut?

The Jacksonville Jaguars are just five days away from full on training Camp when veterans, quarterbacks, and everyone else is set to report. The team currently has 89 players on the Roster now but with Gary Barnidge set to visit on Tuesday, that number might very well hit 90 just before camp starts.

But as the summer winds down and the regular season approaches, the Jaguars will eventually have to cut their roster down to the 53-man limit. Here's an early look how the Jaguars' final 53-man depth chart could play out.

We'll update these projections throughout camp.

Offense

QB: Blake Bortles, Chad Henne, Brandon Allen (3)

I could see this going down to two for the 53-man roster, but not likely. Bortles is on a short leash and they may want to see what Allen brings to the table at some point with Henne playing backup to both.

RB: Leonard Fournette, T.J. Yeldon, Chris Ivory, Corey Grant (4)

FB: Marquez Williams (1)

The only real battle here is for fullback, in my opinion. Fournette and Ivory are locks to make the roster and Yeldon, while disappointing, fills a need as the third-down back. Unless Grant has a sensational camp and shows he can limit turnovers and be a solid third-down option, this how I see it playing out.

TE: Marcedes Lewis, Gary Barnidge, Mychal Rivera (3)

I think the Jaguars sign Barnidge and I think he makes all of Ben Koyack, Neal Sterling, and more expendable. Lewis isn’t going anywhere and neither is Rivera.

WR: Allen Robinson, Allen Hurns, Marqise Lee, Dede Westbrook, Amba Etta-Tawo (5)

I think the top four spots are easy in terms of predicting and it wouldn’t surprise me if Greene is cut or kept. If Greene is cut, it makes room for an extra tight end or offensive lineman, which might be more valuable than what Greene brings to the table so that’s why I’m going with that here. And I think Etta-Tawo will emerge as the best of the undrafted receivers and will push Arrelious Benn off the roster.

OL: Cam Robinson, Patrick Omameh, Branden Albert, Brandon Linder, A.J. Cann, Jermey Parnell, Luke Bowanko, Tyler Shatley, Josh Wells, Earl Watford (10)

Like I said above, don’t be surprised if the Jaguars keep five receivers and have an extra offensive lineman. I have no idea who the starting five will be and I don’t think the coaches will until the regular season. That means a lot of reps for backups.

Defense

DE: Dante Fowler, Jr., Yannick Ngakoue, Dawuane Smoot, Calais Campbell (4)

There’s no way Fowler is a camp casualty, but... these are the starting four defensive ends and although I want a guy like Hunter Dimick to emerge, I just think the team has painted itself into a corner of these being the top four.

DT: Malik Jackson, Sheldon Day, Abry Jones, Stefan Charles, Michael Bennett (5)

This will be a really fun position group to watch. Jackson and Jones are locks and Charles fits a role they don’t have a lot of in Jacksonville, but what if one of Day or Bennett is unimpressive?

LB: Telvin Smith, Myles Jack, Paul Posluszny, Blair Brown, Josh McNary, Audie Cole (6)

The top three in Smith, Jack, and Posluszny are the unquestioned starters. I think Cole fits well as a true backup and Brown and McNary are good special teamers. It’s a good unit.

CB: Jalen Ramsey, A.J. Bouye, Aaron Colvin, Jalen Myrick, Josh Johnson (5)

Besides quarterback, this is probably the easiest position group to predict. Ramsey, Bouye, and Colvin are the top three, Myrick was a draft pick, and Johnson played well in 2016.

FS: Tashaun Gipson, Peyton Thompson (2)

SS: Barry Church, Jarrod Wilson (2)

The only discussion for both the safety spots is who backs up the unquestioned starters in Gipson and Church. I think Thompson stays because of his versatility and Wilson stays because he’s the one who’s been getting reps all offseason when Church sat out.

Special teams

K: Jason Myers (1)

P: Brad Nortman (1)

LS: Carson Tinker (1)

I mean, if you think any of these three guys is going anywhere I can’t help you. They’re all three locks.
