Women's players' union launches

More progress in the world of Women’s Rugby with news today of the launch of a new players’ union - The Women's Rugby Association (WRA) – for women in the Premier 15s.

Led by former England full-back Danielle Waterman, the WRA aims to provide legal, medical and welfare support for its members.

Although women contracted to England have been able to join the Rugby Players Association, this has not been an option for other Premier 15s players, so the formation of the WRA is to be welcomed – and the fact that such an organisation is necessary is testament to just how far women’s domestic rugby has progressed over the past few years.

Good luck to Nollie Waterman and all at the WRA.
