I did say that the 37 man Lions Squad selected by Warren Gatland last month would not be the actual squad that departs for South Africa later this month - and lo and behold England prop Kyle Sinckler has been called up to squad to replace the injured Andrew Porter.
Much as I am sorry for Porter - who I thought was excellent in the Six Nations - I am delighted for Sinckler whose belated inclusion, for me, definitely improves the squad.
Unlucky not to make the original selection (having been one of England's better performers in February and March), Sinckler's recent form has been great and his previous Lions experience in New Zealand in 2017 will no doubt serve him well.
Don't bet against Sinckler playing in all three tests...
