As Barcelona continue to march on into the season, the club are prepared to challenge for all the titles they are competing for.

It would be a tough couple of months until the end of the season and the club have moved to add more depth to the team.

On the club’s agenda for some time now has been to provide a Backup Striker for Luis Suarez.

Suarez has been very prolific in front of goal and just recently became the fifth player in the rankings of most goals scored throughout Barcelona’s history.

One surprise name that popped up recently is Kevin-Prince Boateng and the club have confirmed that the deal is done.

According to a press release by the club, the 31-year-old would be joining for the rest of the season and the Catalans have the option of paying 8 million euros for a full purchase.

An official statement read:

“Barcelona and US Sassuolo have arrived at an agreement for the loan of the player Kevin-Prince Boateng for the remainder of the 2018/19 season. The agreement includes an €8m purchase option.”

No stranger to La Liga

Boateng would certainly add depth to Valverde’s team and has a lot of experience playing int he biggest leagues in Europe.

He has spent his time in the Premier League, the Bundesliga, Serie A and La Liga.

His time in LaLiga was spent with Las Palmas in the 2016/17 season and during that period, Boateng scored 10 goals.

With Sassuolo, he has netted in three of his first five Serie A appearances.
