Ex-Real Madrid player says joining Barcelona would be dream come true

Barcelona are yet to make any big major signings, but they do have a few targets already penciled down as July rolls in.

Top on the list for the Catalans is the signing of Clement Lenglet after reports confirmed that Barcelona would be paying his release clause to sign him from Sevilla.

Apart from Lenglet, other names have been linked with moves to Barcelona.

According to AS Diario, Uruguayan defender Guillermo Varela is among the names being linked to Barcelona at the moment.

Reports say his move to the La Liga giants is being orchestrated by Luis Suarez.

Guillermo Varela started his professional career in Montevideo for Peñarol in 2010 and then earned himself a move to Manchester United who eventually loaned himto Real Madrid Castilla and then Eintracht Frankfurt before the defender returned to his home club.

Addressing the reports, the player told EFE news outlet: “”I’ve read it but I did not even ask Luis. Nobody has confirmed it to me.”

Obviously it would be a dream to play for Barcelona and, even more so, with Suárez. That would be really nice, but I don’t want to think about it.”

The 25-year old is currently with the Uruguayan national team.
