Messi reveals one thing about Ronaldinho that football would never forget

Lionel Messi’s career at Barcelona cannot be complete without mentioning the phenomenal Ronaldinho who played a key role in Messi’s early days at the club.

Ronaldinho was like a senior brother to Messi and at just 17 years, Leo was already in Barcelona’s history books as the youngest player to score thanks to a Ronaldinho assist (That record would eventually be beaten by Bojan Krkic.)

On Tuesday, it was confirmed that the Brazilian had officially retired from Football and the farewell messages have been pouring in since.

Messi has sent a very loving one to someone he learned a lot from.

Leo shared on his social media accounts:

As I’ve always said, I learned a lot by your side. I’ll forever be grateful to you for making everything so easy when I joined the first team.

I was lucky enough to share many things with you and I’m really happy about that because, as well as being a star out on the pitch, you’re an excellent person and that’s the most important thing.

Although you’ve decided to retire, football will never forget your smile. Wishing you all the best, Ronaldinho Gaúcho.

Ronaldinho was involved in the Brazil squad that won the World Cup in 2002.

He scored in the group stage win over China before his famous free kick that knocked England out at the quarter final stage.
