Chelsea were unsuccessful in their battle with Manchester United over the signing of Romelu Lukaku. The Blues made the Belgian their No 1 target in their bid to add more firepower to their attack.

Other targets like Alvaro Morata and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

Antonio Conte’s team is facing a tough time in landing Morata from Real Madrid. The Spanish attacker was really close to joining United until Madrid pulled the plug on the deal.

However, the British media have reported that Chelsea is close to sealing a deal for Aubameyang. The Gabon international is rated among the Fastest player in Europe and his really prolific in front of goal.

The 28-year-old bagging 40 goals last term in the Bundesliga and has been ready to leave Dortmund all summer.

Chelsea are confident a £65million fee would be sufficient to land the Dortmund hitman.

On the other hand, Dortmund are interested in signing Olivier Giroud from Arsenal.

The French international is with the squad in Australia and hinted: ”I’m here in pre-season, I wanted to travel. Some people asked me if I am going to travel or not and of course, I am Arsenal player and for the moment I am here so I just want to prepare well for the season and we will see later.”
