Done deal: Barcelona agrees €35 million deal as player is set to sign five-year deal

There is finally some positive news coming out of Spain as Barcelona are set to announce a big signing.

Reports have confirmed that Barcelona have sealed he Deal for Nelson Semedo who would be joining from Benfica.

Barcelona have been following him for sometime now while they pursued their interest in Hector Bellerin. But with Arsenal’s refusal to do any deal, they turned their full attention to the Portuguese.

Barcelona’s negotiation team landed in Portugal on Thursday where they were locked in talks to finalize the deal.

The Barça team was led by  Javier Bordas , member of the FC Barcelona sports commission, Robert Fernández , technical secretary of the first team and  Raúl Sanllehí , soccer director.

The exact figure of the transfer is not yet confirmed. But some sources out it at 30 million euros plus another 5 million in add-ons. However, other sources put the fee at €35 million plus target-related payments.

The 23-year-old was with the Portuguese national team at the Confederations Cup in Russia, and first got called up in 2016.

He had a release clause of 60 million euros with Benfica.
