Ex-Juventus player Giovinco reveals why he turned down Barcelona and it’s quite funny

Sebastian Givovinco has become the latest news to be linked with a move the Barcelona.

The Italian joined MLS side Toronto FC in 2015 and went on to win MLS MVP honors and led TFC to the title match last season.

His agent Adrea D’Amico had already said Barcelona were interested in signing him one year ago.

According to quotes via ESPN FC, Amico said: “He refused, one year ago, the opportunity to sign a loan with Barcelona because he loves to stay in Toronto.”

“He wants to win with Toronto.”

And now, the 30-year-old player himself has now revealed why he didn’t want to move. His reason was the obvious lack of game time, but he goes on to say Neymar, Messi and Suarez would have started ahead of him even with one leg.

Remember this was one year ago, and Barcelona already had the MSN who were in the form of their lives.

Giovinco told Sky Sports Italia: “It’s true, in the past there was interest from Barcelona. But I’d have been a ball boy there.

“With those three stars in attack, I wouldn’t play at all.”

“I wasn’t interested because I wanted to play. Neymar, Leo Messi and Luis Suarez would’ve played even with one leg and still made the difference. So there was no point in me being there.”
