Conte had the best response to Wenger’s claims Chelsea are ‘super-favorites’ for the title

Since that 3-0 defeat at the hands of Arsenal in September, Chelsea haven’t lost a League game.

The team ended the year with a club record of 12 consecutive league wins and are just two behind Arsenal’s 14 consecutive win record.

Antonio Conte’s men are six-points clear at the top of the table, and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes they are the clear favorites for the league title.

In an earlier press conference, the Frenchman had said: “At the moment Chelsea is the super-favourite because they are quite big and made a big difference.

“But it is theirs to lose as we say here in England. They can still lose it. At the moment they have won it but they can still lose it.”

But Conte isn’t letting Wenger’s comments get to his head and has instead dismissed such claims.

When asked by a journalist about Wenger’s remarks, he began: ‘I think it’s very difficult to reply to this question because I think we have played only 18 games and there are 20 games left.”

“At the start of the season, not one coach, not one person, not one journalist trusted in this team to fight for the title in this league this season,’ Conte said when asked about Wenger.

‘Because it came after a bad season. I think the most important thing in our heads must be to continue to work, to work very hard and continue to be focused game by game.

‘I think that 12 wins in a row is a great achievement, but it’s not enough to win the league at this point of the season.’
