Mason blows out La Salle, again, as regular season comes to an end

George Mason dominated La Salle, yet again, yesterday and cruised to a 89-54 win. The last time these two teams met in January they won 75-42. Mason has not won their last four games as they head to the uncertainly of an A-10 tournament that hopefully won’t be canceled. They are hitting their stride at the right time but unfortunately the only top A-10 squad they’ve taken down has been VCU. Still though they seem to be winning the small battles on the court that we saw them lose earlier in the season.

The guards on this team have been playing much better during this run and they will need to continue to have success shooting threes to advance in the conference tournament. They were 11-for-22 against La Salle with Tyler Kolek and Javon Green each shooting 4-7 from there. This combined with limited turnovers has led to success for the Patriots.

It was a quiet night for Josh Oduro has had a great week last week but shows that the team does have versatility and doesn’t always need to shoot the lights out from behind the arc to win. They simply didn’t need Oduro in this one but that will change in the conference tournament.

The bracket for the A-10 tournament will be released Monday but we do know that Mason will have a first round bye.
