George Mason blows out La Salle 75-42

George Mason bounced back from their three game skid to absolutely manhandle La Salle 75-42 on Wednesday night. Mason started off hot and never looked back with senior Javon Greene leading the way with 18 points and joined the 1,000-point club in Mason’s history. La Salle certainly isn’t an A-10 power right now but they did beat Dayton back in December. It was important to see Mason not take their foot off the gas in this one and hold them to under 50 points. It doesn’t alleviate the main concerns for this year’s team but it again shows that the offense can be there when things are clicking.

My problem with this game even despite the large margin of victory is that they still had issues turning over the ball and hitting three-pointers. To beat the better teams in the conference they really need to clean up these two areas and we keep seem them as recurring problems. This game shows their power of scoring in the paint and getting those second changes points on the glass but they still have to improve in the other areas or I think they will struggle to stay out of the bottom four of the standings.
