LIVERPOOL SHOW TITLE CREDENTIALS WITH WIN AT CHELSEA

Make no mistake about it, Liverpool's win over Chelsea at the Bridge laid down a marker for the Season ahead.

Goals from Dejan Lovren and Jordan Henderson in the first-half were just reward for the dominance of Liverpool over Chelsea in the game.
Jurgen Klopp's red machine is beginning to purr nicely and to completely overrun Antonio Conte's Blues shows a real sign of progression by Liverpool.

Last Season was all about getting to know the Premier League by Jurgen Klopp who is almost a year into his role now. This Season he has more knowledge of the League, how English football works, how each team plays, he is more experienced now and results are starting to show that.

The defeat of a good Chelsea team at their own ground is a very pleasing and significant result. Liverpool totally dominated their opponents in the first half, went two goals up and at half-time Chelsea were reeling.

Whatever Conte said to them during the interval seemed to work as they came after Liverpool with much more purpose and energy with Diego Costa getting a goal in the 62nd minute after a rare mix up in the otherwise commanding Liverpool defence.

That proved to be the summit of Chelsea's adventure however, despite shading the possession and territory in the 2nd half, they failed to score again.

Indeed, sub Origi was denied by Courtois from a fierce downward header, to make it 3-1.

However, all Liverpool fans can be happy in the knowledge that we are on the right track to success this Season. We are in joint second in the League as I write.
