The Philadelphia Eagles decision to draft Carson Wentz will always be part of the conversation and NFL rumors. By selecting Wentz, quarterback Sam Bradford felt disappointed, and even wanted to be traded.
While the Eagles organization continues to voice out that Bradford would be the starter, the veteran quarterback hasn’t reached out to the rookie. The most difficult thing for the Eagles would be the unwillingness of Bradford to play with them. He doesn’t have the passion to play with them anymore.
Meanwhile, Tom Condon, Bradford’s agent, opened up his thoughts through NFL Networks Rich Eisen’s podcast, telling what really transpired during Bradford’s trade demands:
“We thought we had a chance to go to a really good football team and be there for a long time… And that opportunity was there and actually the attempt was made. “When the Broncos contacted the Eagles and talked about the trade, they couldn’t agree on the price and so they drafted somebody in the first round… Now, at that point, our options are pretty limited. So our next best option is to go back and prepare for the season.”
The fact that Bradford is no longer interest to play with the Eagles, the drama will go on between the two parties. Moreover, if Bradford suddenly would decide to play, then a Quarterback Controversy is imminent.
With a new coach and not going to OTA’s, Bradford will be left by the rookie when it comes to knowing the plays. Eventually, Bradford would be the backup.
On the other hand, Wentz told NFL.com that there will not be a lot of tension between them.
“Personally, I don’t think there will be a lot of tension,” Wentz said on Friday, via NFL.com. “People might make it out to be, but the coaches and everybody will be on the same page and I think it will be a really good working relationship for sure.”
