Legacies is an American fantasy drama television series that aired on The CW on October 25, 2018. It was developed by Julie Plec.
As a spin-off of The Originals, this show incorporates characters from both that show and The Vampire Diaries, which it follows in the footsteps of. Danielle Rose Russell reprises her role as Hope Mikaelson, the 17-year-old protagonist of The Originals’ fifth and final season.
Among the cast members returning from The Vampire Diaries is Matt Davis, who plays Alaric Saltzman. On January 21, 2021, the third season premiered. It was revived for a fourth season by The CW in February 2021, which aired on October 14, 2021.
The COVID-19 epidemic forced the cancellation of the second season’s production in March 2020. Only 16 of the 20 episodes scheduled had been finished.
There were no more episodes left to air once production was shut down on March 26, 2020, therefore the sixteenth episode, which aired that night, would serve as the show’s spring finale.
It began filming on October 15, 2020, for the third season.
On June 24, 2021, the third season’s production ended. Only 20 episodes were filmed for the current season and will be saved for the next fourth season. As of October 2021, Season 4 is presently being filmed in Georgia.

Legacies Season 3-
LEGACIES follows the ongoing narrative of a new generation of supernatural students as they discover what it means to be extraordinary in a world that doesn’t appreciate their powers at The Salvatore Boarding School for the Young & Gifted. Reunited with her old Headmaster, Alaric Saltzman, Hope Mikaelson returned to a world that had forgotten she existed in season two.
A team of powerful vampires, witches, and werewolves, led by Hope and Dr. Saltzman, returned to The Salvatore School to fight against an overwhelming number of fantastic and deadly monsters that had emerged from the Malivore Pit, including their old enemy The Necromancer, who was determined to bring back Malivore.
The team also included MG, Rafael, and Kaleb, a Phoenix, Hope’s true love, Landon. As the third season of The Walking Dead begins, Hope has sacrificed all to save her friends from a terrifying prophesy that threatened to ruin their lives. Hope Mikaelson’s life is shattered when she loses a loved one in a tragic accident.

When Klaus Mikaelson and Hayley Marshall gave birth to their daughter, Hope Mikaelson, she is descended from some of the most powerful bloodlines in the vampire and werewolf communities.
Hope, now 17, enters the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted two years after the events of The Originals. In the school, extraordinary beings can learn to manage their powers and urges.
