Why Hulu Dropped Chance Season 3?
TVLine has learnt that Hulu’s Hugh Laurie-starring drama Chance has been cancelled after two under-the-radar seasons on the streaming service.
While the noir-ish thriller premiered to positive reviews in late 2016, the 10-episode run of the series created little traction. Since the first season aired, Hulu decided to continue with the programme for a second season because, well, Hulu picked it up for two seasons straight out of the box (i.e. the streamer was legally obligated to honour its initial commitment).
The second season came to a close on Nov. 29th.
In Kem Nunn’s Chance, set in San Francisco, Laurie plays a troubled forensic neuropsychiatrist who is dragged into a corrupt, manipulative, and abusive existence in the police force.
Do Chance Season 3 Has Chances To Be Back?
After the first two seasons, Hulu chose to discontinue Chance. However, the first season was poorly reviewed and did not generate enough revenue for Hulu to fund a second season. Second season was launched, and it was met with minimal fanfare and success as well.
As a consequence, there was little prospect of the show being renewed. Hulu’s decision to discontinue the show after its second season reinforced our suspicions. There are no plans to bring back the show on television as a consequence of the cancellation.
