We were all down last weekend to camp for the fall Squirrel Opener. Moose managed a Hat Trick Saturday morning. I dug around and found one nearly like it from when Moose was still a teenager.

Moose went on to dazzle us with some of the best meat I’ve ever eaten: slow-cooked venison tenderloin done on the grill.

After dinner, everyone took off for the new campsite. I stayed behind to watch for deer and send up the drone to possibly catch some footage. I had 5 doe coming out of Dead Skunk Hollow. I had the drone in the air when the doe suddenly stiffened and turned. Just then, I saw Moose’s truck coming back to pick up stuff they had left. When I looked back, the deer were gone.

Drat.
