The World Nomad Games just recently ended in Kyrgyzstan
Unknown to most, between September 3 and September 8, the World Nomad Games were held in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan. This was the second edition of the games, which started in 2014 in the same host city.

The World Nomad Games is a competition designed to organize peoples from around the world in contests of a wide variety of traditional sports. More specifically, the games are a reflection of ethnic games of those living in Central Asia. Most countries participating in the World Nomad Games are former Soviet Union republics, such as Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and the Russian republics of Sakha, Buryatia, Altay, Kalmykia and Bashkortostan, Other countries participating are Mongolia, Turkey and Afghanistan.
