Broncos are fifth on waiver wire order

The Denver Broncos are fifth on the NFL’s Waiver Wire order, so they could end up picking up a few players cut by teams over the last two days.

The Denver Broncos are fifth on the NFL’s Waiver wire order for players cut by teams within the last two days. This means they could easily pick up any player they might be interested in by placing a waiver claim.

Teams have until 10:00 a.m. on Sunday to place a waiver claim on a player under the waiver wire process. Normally, waivers are processed within 24-hours, but NFL cuts weekend is special. The period to place a waiver claim is abbreviated and players run through the waiver process all at the same time whether they were cut on the Friday before or on Saturday before the teams are required to have their 53-man rosters set.

Players eligible for the waiver wire must have less than four-years of service in the NFL, otherwise they would become immediate free agents and can sign with any team at any time.

With the Broncos so high in the waiver order, it is possible they might put a claim on a player or two that they coveted at one time or another. However, they might be completely satisfied with their roster heading into the Week 1 and shift focus entirely on filling out their 10-man practice squad.
