Highlights from the Pro Days around the country

In the wake of the cancellation of the NFL Scouting Combine, the focus has turned to college “pro days” for scouting for the 2021 NFL Draft. Here is a breakdown of some college Pro Days that took place on Friday:

Oklahoma

For a team that has a tackle-convert at center, the Giants might be paying attention to Creed Humphrey from Oklahoma. The Senior offensive lineman, standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 302 pounds, put up solid numbers with 29 bench reps, 33-inch vertical and a 5.09 40-yard dash. Projected for the early rounds, Humphrey would immediately improve any offensive line.

With the team also being in need of EDGE help, Ronnie Perkins might be a late-first or early-second round an option. At 6-2, 253 pounds, Perkins is on the smaller end for EDGE players. With a 4.71 40-yard dash, a 32-inch vertical and a broad jump of 9 feet, 7 inches, Perkins showed off his athleticism. Should the Giants decide to trade back into the first round for EDGE help, Perkins could be the guy.

North Dakota State

Of course, the big name to watch from FCS NDSU is QB Trey Lance. The highlight of Friday’s pro days, Lance did well in throwing drills, even earning a comparison to Josh Allen from one scout according to NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah. It’s highly unlikely that the Giants take Lance given their recent commitment to Daniel Jones, but the Cardinals took Kyler Murray a year after selecting Josh Rosen. Crazier things have happened on draft night.

If the Giants are in the market for a Day 2 or 3 OL prospect, then NDSU’s Dillon Radunz might be on their radar. With prototypical height and weight for an NFL lineman at 6-foot-5 and 301 pounds, Radunz is certainly a player to be on the lookout for in the middle or late stages of the draft.
