Giants news, 6/15: Avery Moss, R.J. McIntosh dealing with injuries

Pat Shurmur “hopeful” both will participate in training camp

Neither second-year man Avery Moss nor rookie fifth-round draft pick R.J. McIntosh participated in any of the spring practices. Thursday, as the New York Giants ended their mandatory mini-camp and headed for summer break, coach Pat Shurmur finally offered some clarity as to why.

Moss, Shurmur said, “had an injury a year ago and is working through it. We are hoping he will be ready to go come training camp.”

The coach didn’t specify, but the only known injury Moss had last season was to a shoulder.

McIntosh is “going to have to have a procedure,” per Shurmur, who again did not specify what procedure or to what body part. The coach said he is “hopeful” McIntosh will participate in training camp.
