The Miami Dolphins will get the in-season Hard Knocks spotlight for 2023.

The Miami Dolphins appeared on the 2012 edition of the HBO and NFL Films production of Hard Knocks, a behind-the-scenes look at an NFL team during training camp and the preseason. That year included the introduction of Joe Philbin as the team’s head coach, Ryan Tannehill’s development as a rookie quarterback, and the trade of Vontae Davis from the Dolphins to the Indianapolis Colts and the meeting between Davis and then-general manager Jeff Ireland.

Fast forward to 2023, and the Dolphins have not been back on Hard Knocks - until now. In 2021, HBO, NFL Films, and the NFL introduced the “In Season” spin-off of Hard Knocks. It began with the Indianapolis Colts that year, then the Arizona Cardinals made an appearance last year. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Dolphins will be the 2023 in-season team.

The in-season edition of the show will likely air in November and focus on Miami trying to make a playoff run while threatening several NFL records. The Dolphins are currently 5-2 on the season, in first place in the AFC East, and on pace to see records set by the team’s offense, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, and wide receiver Tyreek Hill. Expect all of those to be front-and-center in November’s episodes of Hard Knocks.
