From the Bleachers #68 on BGN Radio!

Yo!

The latest episode of From the Bleachers on BGN Radio has dropped!

I discussed the most underrated Eagles ever this week. Obviously, my list is going to skew a little bit more recent as someone who’s just 27, but I tried to pay respect to some elder players as well. I’m looking at this from both a national and local perspective depending on the player.

Here are the quick hits.

5. Jeremy Maclin

He had 85-1318-10 in 2014 with absolutely terrible quarterback play. Seeing him paired with DeSean Jackson in Chip Kelly’s offense in 2013 (Maclin missed the season) could’ve made for fireworks.

He topped 850 receiving yards in four-straight seasons (again, putting aside the 2013 campaign he missed).

4. Bobby Taylor

The 2002 Eagles secondary is better than the 2004 one everyone seems to remember more fondly because the Eagles went to the Super Bowl that year. Troy Vincent and Bobby Taylor were better than Lito Sheppard and Sheldon Brown, who were obviously still very good. His pick-6 against Atlanta in the 2002 NFC Divisional Round kicked off the last win at Veterans Stadium.

3. Eric Allen

More interceptions than Ty Law, Champ Bailey and Deion Sanders. Put him in the Hall of Fame.

2. Clyde Simmons

121.5 career sacks.

121.5!!!

He has more sacks than Von Miller, J.J. Watt and Charles Haley. Put him in the Hall of Fame.

1. Brian Westbrook

The best running back in Eagles history. If his career started in the modern NFL, he’d be an all-time great.
