Top 10 college football prospects to watch in Week 11

Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Ben’s Ten: Tide and Tigers dominate the day.

College football’s regular season is coming to a close. As the post-season nears and stakes are as high as ever, high profile games are in high supply. The Alabama/LSU matchup will obviously draw the most attention and so will the game’s bevy of talented players. While that game dominates headlines, there are a few other names to keep an eye on!

  • Jeff Okudah, Cornerback, Ohio State v Maryland (12 PM on Fox): Jeff Okudah continues to be one of the best cornerbacks in the country. His dominance will likely continue against Maryland but it’s always fun to see where he can take his game on a week to week basis. With Chase Young sidelined, Okudah will have to do with a little less help from his defensive line.
  • Marvin Wilson, Defensive Tackle, FSU v. Boston College (12 PM on ACCN): Marvin Wilson has been excellent this year despite all the tumult at Florida State. Wilson will be integral to slowing down Boston College’s prolific running game. Wilson is an excellent and proven pass rusher but will get a chance to show off his run defense against BC.
  • KJ Hamler, Wide Receiver, Penn State v. Minnesota (12 PM on ABC): In a battle of undefeated teams, KJ Hamler will be relied on to provide big plays against a stingy Minnesota defense. The PSU speedster will definitely be worth watching.
  • Kristian Fulton, Cornerback, LSU v. Alabama (3:30 on CBS): The first of many players on this list from that game; Kristian Fulton has been playing very good football this year but will need to play his beat against Alabama. The Tide is loaded at wide receiver and with Tua back from injury( the secondary will be on high alert.
  • Grant Delpit, Safety, LSU v. Alabama (3:30 on CBS): With expectation to play despite recent injury, this is arguably the biggest game of Grant Delpit’s career. The playmaking safety has a chance to flip this game in LSU’s favor with a few signature moments and put some great tape up against one of the best offenses in recent memory.
  • Justin Jefferson, Wide Receiver, LSU v. Alabama (3:30 on CBS): While Joe Burrow has stolen the show at LSU, Justin Jefferson deserves some shine for the big plays he’s brought to the Tigers offense. Jefferson is a big bodied, athletic player and he will be targeted often against Alabama’s secondary. If there’s a team any wide receiver wants to show the NFL he can play well against, it’s Alabama.
  • Trevon Diggs, Cornerback, Alabama v. LSU (3:30 on CBS): Similar to Kristian Fulton, Diggs will need to play great football against LSU’s high powered passing game. Diggs has a lot of NFL tools and playing well against top competition like this will vault his NFL draft stock.
  • Henry Ruggs III, Wide Receiver, Alabama v. LSU (3:30 on CBS): This could be any of the Alabama receivers, but I’m particularly interested in how Ruggs fares against the Tigers secondary. His speed is going to be highly coveted so how he plays against a more athletic, physical group could give some insight into the well-roundedness of his game.
  • AJ Epenesa, EDGE, Iowa v. Wisconsin (4 PM on Fox): With Chase Young out, AJ Epenesa is the best defensive player in any game this Saturday. He will have a tall task with stopping a Wisconsin running game looking to gain its footing after a rough outing this week. The Badgers can be extremely dangerous but Epenesa could shut them down early and often.
  • Curtis Weaver, EDGE, Boise State v. Wyoming (10:15 on ESPN): If you can stay up, there is some good Mountain West Football on. Wyoming is fielding a surprising 6-2 team with a very dynamic running game and some big play threats in the passing game. Curtis Weaver has been a dominant every down defender this year and a big game with be important to helping prevent an upset for the Broncos.
