Eagles work out Paul Worrilow (again) and a wide receiver/returner

Roster moves coming?

The Philadelphia Eagles worked out two free agents on Tuesday, as noted by Adam Caplan: linebacker Paul Worrilow and wide receiver/returner Penny Hart.

This marks the second time the Eagles have brought Worrilow in for a workout since releasing him back in the summer. Kind of weird since the Eagles already have six linebackers on the roster with Nigel Bradham, Zach Brown, Kamu Grugier-Hill, Nathan Gerry, Duke Riley, and T.J. Edwards. Maybe the Eagles are trying to do Worrilow and his agent a favor by getting his name out there?

The Hart workout is interesting in light of the news that Darren Sproles is “week-to-week” with a quad injury. The 5-8, 180 pound Hart originally signed with the Indianapolis Colts as a rookie free agent following the 2019 NFL Draft. Hart tweaked his hamstring in training camp and was ultimately waived by the Colts with an injury settlement.

Hart is a jitterbug player who logged 16 punt returns for 200 yards (12.5 average) and one touchdown at Georgia State. His 203 college receptions went for 2,960 yards (14.6 average) and 19 touchdowns. Hart shined at the Senior Bowl earlier this year and drew praise from BGN’s Benjamin Solak.

The Eagles might want to have Hart’s number available if the Corey Clement and/or Nelson Agholor punt returner experiment(s) don’t work out.

...

In former Eagles news, Tre Sullivan worked out for the Chargers and 2014 first-round pick Marcus Smith (!) worked out for the Colts. Smith and Frank Reich overlapped in Philly back in 2016.
