Eagles Fans Rooting Guide for NFL Week 15 Games

Here are the teams you should be rooting for ... and against.

Here’s a look at which teams Philadelphia Eagles fans should be rooting for during NFL Week 15 games.

WILD CARD FEVER

The Eagles still have a chance to win the No. 6 seed in the NFC playoff picture. Here’s what you should be rooting for if you haven’t given up on the season.

Philadelphia Eagles at Los Angeles Rams: The Eagles aren’t officially eliminated if they don’t beat the Rams but their chances drop down to 7% with a loss. Philly has their work cut out for them as they enter LA as 14-point underdogs. Root for the Eagles.

Miami Dolphins at Minnesota Vikings: The Vikings would be the No. 6 seed in the NFC if the season ended today. They need to lose for the Eagles to catch up. As a bonus, the Dolphins Winning leaves less breathing room for Baltimore in the AFC. Root for the Dolphins.

New Orleans Saints at Carolina Panthers: The Panthers have a head-to-head tie-breaker over Philly so the Eagles need the Panthers to lose this Monday Night Football matchup. Root for the Saints.

Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears: The Packers are still hanging around at 5-7-1 and their final three games include: at CHI, at NYJ, vs. DET. It’s not impossible for them to win out if Aaron Rodgers can get hot. If the Eagles win out, they’ll be ahead of Green Bay no matter what the Packers do. But to increase room for error, Eagles fans should be rooting for the Packers to lose. As a bonus, the Bears winning decreases the chance of Dallas getting the No. 3 seed over Chicago. Root for the Bears.

Washington Redskins at Jacksonville Jaguars: Washington is pretty hopeless due to their quarterback situation but their 6-7 record means they’re still alive. Losing to the Jags drops their chances down to 4%. Root for the Jaguars.

Tennessee Titans at New York Giants: It’s not likely to happen but the Giants can still make the playoffs. It’d be good to see them knocked down a peg after going 4-1 in their last five. Also, the Titans winning is good because it puts more pressure on Baltimore in the AFC playoff picture. Root for the Titans.

Detroit Lions at Buffalo Bills: The Lions are technically still alive for the wild card. For the sake of the Eagles making the playoffs, it’s best for them to lose. Root for the Bills.

NFC EAST PIPE DREAM

Dallas Cowboys at Indianapolis Colts: The Eagles CAN still win the NFC East. All it takes is the Cowboys losing out and the Eagles winning out. So, yeah, probably not happening, but screw it. Root for the Colts.

DRAFT POSITIONING

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Baltimore Ravens: The Bucs are alive for the wild card and they hold a tie-breaker over the Eagles but I’d argue that fans should be more concerned with the Ravens losing this game since Philly owns Baltimore’s 2019 second-round pick. Keeping the Ravens out of the playoffs ensures that pick is in the late teens instead of potentially ending up in the late twenties. Root for the Bucs.

New England Patriots at Pittsburgh Steelers: The 7-5-1 Steelers only have a narrow lead over the 7-6 Ravens in the AFC North. The Eagles need the Steelers to win in order to help keep the Ravens out of the playoffs. Root for the Steelers.

Arizona Cardinals at Atlanta Falcons: The Falcons won’t be winning enough to pass ahead of the Eagles in the 2019 NFL Draft order. Might as well root for them to lose so they can stay ahead of NYG. Root for the Cardinals.

Oakland Raiders at Cincinnati Bengals: The Bengals can get a better shot at a worse pick than the Eagles by winning. Root for the Bengals.

WHAT’S LEFT

Seattle Seahawks at San Francisco 49ers: This game doesn’t really matter since the Seahawks are likely locked in at the No. 5 seed. I’d say Eagles should be rooting for Seattle to continue to play really good football. The Cowboys could be hosting the Seahawks on wild card weekend. Root for the Seahawks.
