Eagles Roster Cuts 2017: Matt McGloin is GONE

Phew.

It’s been a quiet day for the Philadelphia Eagles (so far), but the team has reportedly released another player. Matt McGloin has been cut by the Eagles, per NJ.com.

This cut comes as a huge surprise. Actually, just kidding, no it doesn’t. McGloin stunk it up in the preseason this year. He finished the summer with a 69.7% completion percentage and 5.3 yards per attempt. He threw one touchdown and three interceptions for a 74.0 passer rating.

The Eagles signed McGloin in the spring to come in as a third string quarterback behind obvious starter Carson Wentz and veteran backup Nick Foles. Foles missed a lot of time this offseason due to injury so the Eagles got their money’s worth out of McGloin in practice.

Philadelphia cutting McGloin indicates the Eagles are comfortable with Foles’ health despite the fact Foles missed all four preseason games and over a month of practice.

The Eagles’ roster is now unofficially down to 85 players. Keep track of all the cuts by (clicking here) and checking BGN for more updates.
