Let's get to the Philadelphia Eagles links ...

‘Proof’ Eli Manning was in on Giants memorabilia scheme - New York Daily News
A smoking-gun email from Eli Manning proves he quarterbacked a conspiracy to defraud collectors by pawning off phony game-worn gear as the real deal, according to court documents obtained by The Post. The two-time Super Bowl MVP, who has a contract with memorabilia dealer Steiner Sports, instructed a team manager to get the bogus equipment so it could be sold off as authentic, the papers say. “2 helmets that can pass as game used. That is it. Eli,” Manning wrote to equipment manager Joe Skiba from a BlackBerry on April 27, 2010, according to the documents. Less than 20 minutes later, Manning wrote to his marketing agent, Alan Zucker, who requested the helmets, saying: “Should be able to get them for tomorrow.”

Greg Cosell's Nuggets Of Draft Wisdom - PE.com
When looking at the edge rushers, Cosell projects Charles Harris as a potential fit for defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz's scheme. "He is explosive off the ball," Cosell said. "He's really good in the stunt game which the Eagles do a lot of."

Eagles mailbag: Why the recent hype on Gareon Conley? How about Sidney Jones in round 2? - PhillyVoice
Even if Jones is ready to play by the end of October (which may be wishful thinking), he will have missed the entirety of the offseason. I can't imagine he would be very effective as a rookie. You would then only have him under contract for three more seasons thereafter. Beyond that, obviously his ruptured Achilles is a very serious injury. Some players come back from them and play at a high level. Some lose their effectiveness to some degree. Clearly, it's a risk. Dave Mangels of Bleeding Green Nation did a good job of noting how unsuccessful "injury redshirt" players have been in recent years. If Jones is still there when the Eagles pick at the tail end of the third round, I think that would be the sweet spot for him.

Morning Sesh: BPA vs. Need - Philly Football Talk
It’s the age-old question when it comes to the draft – do you go BPA or need. And if BPA, at what point do you draw the line. For instance, I am a firm “BPA All Day” kind of guy. I want the Eagles to take the best player on the board every time they’re on the clock, regardless of the position. But then I’d have to say, “except for quarterback.” And then you could say, “what about safety? The Eagles don’t need a safety. Or guard, the Eagles don’t guards.” And there’s the rub – I believe in BPA as a concept/philosophy, but even I have my limits (hey Eagles, don’t take Mitchell Trubisky). So with that in mind, here are my top five (realistic) guys I want if they’re on the board at #14.

10 things I think about the Eagles and the 2017 NFL Draft - NJ.com
Another reason the Eagles likely won't end up with Dalvin Cook? They are probably going to take Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon. The Eagles had a chance earlier this month to say Mixon was off their board due to a video that shows him punching a woman. Instead, both head coach Doug Pederson and owner Jeffery Lurie spoke about second chances. It sounds like the Eagles are OK with the idea of taking Mixon, and if they indeed are, he fits exactly what they need at the running back position. Mixon is excellent catching the ball out of the backfield, he is a tough runner between the tackles and has the speed to get to the outside. Mixon has a chance to be very special in this Eagles' offense -- and there is a strong chance fans will end up seeing him in it.

Christian McCaffrey continues to be linked to Eagles - ESPN
McShay has linked McCaffrey to the Eagles for weeks. I do believe McCaffrey has fans inside NovaCare. Two key questions are 1) will he still be on the board at 14 when the Eagles pick? and 2) is he so highly rated that they'll break from their general philosophy and draft a running back in the first round for the first time since 1986 (Keith Byars)? Perhaps the fact that McCaffrey is not just a back but also a dynamic receiver and returner will allow them to make an exception. There's little question that he would be an ideal system fit in Doug Pederson's offense.

Matt McGloin talks signing with the Philadelphia Eagles, Penn State fans, and more - Centre Daily News
It just felt like the right spot and the right opportunity. Growing up in Pennsylvania, you dream about playing for the Eagles. It’s an incredible opportunity. I really like what they’re doing with the organization right now. I’m really looking forward to working with that staff and the guys in that quarterback room. On top of that, John DeFilippo, the current quarterbacks coach there, I had him my first two years in Oakland. I learned a lot from him, and he definitely, definitely has helped me tremendously in becoming a better quarterback. I’m looking forward to reuniting with him.

The Eagles and the Sidney Jones dilemma - CSN Philly
Jones doesn't even have what is believed to be a career-threatening injury. He's expected to recover, possibly even play this coming season. After the Cowboys stunned the league last year, it's hard to imagine Jones makes it back around to the Eagles at 43. He may not even make it past the Cowboys at 28. Which presents a dilemma for the Eagles with their first-round pick. Jones was understandably dropped down many boards for medical reasons. The Eagles don't necessarily need to take a cornerback with their first choice, either, as there will be plenty of good prospects in round two or later.

Health - Iggles Blitz
When you evaluate someone like Ross, you have to worry about that history. How will he handle the NFL? Ross is a Top 15 talent, but his health is a legit concern and will likely drop him more toward the bottom of the 1st round. One of Chip’s dorky sayings that was actually dead on the money…the key ability is availability. The best player in the world does you know good if he can’t play. The Eagles have tough decisions to make on several prospects.

Eagles' 2013 draft was solid - for a while - Inquirer
In some way, the last day of the 2013 draft foretold the discord Roseman and Kelly would have eventually. But the first three picks went off like clockwork as the Eagles took the best player rather than reach for need or trade up or down as the showy Roseman had done in each of the previous three drafts. "I think Coach is holding me back here a little bit," Roseman said of Kelly at the conclusion of the second day. Then the general manager, Roseman spoke in jest, but the proof was in his relative inactivity on the phones. After pulling off 13 draft-day trades from 2010-12, Roseman would partner up for only one deal in 2013, when the Eagles traded up in the fourth round for quarterback Matt Barkley.

Perfect Pairs: Ideal top two draft picks for Philadelphia Eagles - NFL.com
Clemson WR Mike Williams (Round 1, pick 14); Florida CB Quincy Wilson (Round 2, pick 43). Brooks on Williams: Williams is a perfect pick for the Eagles as they build this offense around Carson Wentz. You want to make sure Wentz has playmakers and weapons on the outside. Williams is a big, physical, No. 1 receiver who is a playmaker down in the red zone. He expands the strike zone for Wentz.

Matt Miller's Scouting Notebook: Latest on QBs, New 2-Round Mock Draft and More - B/R
"Don't be surprised if Samuel goes ahead of Dalvin Cook," is what one scout texted me this week. Samuel, who played running back and wide receiver at Ohio State (the same role Braxton Miller played), has elite skills as a speed player. He can affect the game as a runner, receiver and return man. That value—and teams seeing what someone like Tyreek Hill can do to an offense—has pushed up his stock.

The story of NFL Draft prospect John Ross III and his unprecedented speed - SB Nation
Long before John Ross III ran a record-breaking 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine, he was just a kid from Long Beach trying to make it.
