Agent Mino Raiola insists Henrikh Mkhitaryan was determined to join Arsenal this month.

The former Manchester United midfielder moved to the Gunners last week as part of a straight swap for Alexis Sanchez.

Raiola, speaking with RMC, was asked if he could’ve placed Mkhitaryan at an Italian club as an alternative.

He said: “I do not bring anyone, I’m not a taxi driver, it’s a negotiation where we realised that the player did not see things like (Jose) Mourinho, this can happen.

“Arsenal wanted Sanchez seriously and both made a big deal, but the best came from the Gunners.”
