Tuesday Morning ‘Dawg Bites Is Doing Just Fine. No, Really, I’m Okay.

Welcome to Tuesday, Bulldog fans! The sun came up as normal (or will shortly for some of you), so that’s one less thing to worry about. I was able to turn on my holiday decorations, and had enough food in the larder to make me and mine a couple of meals. With a home over my head and food in my belly, I’m prepared to move forward. I’m not spending a single second endlessly playing what-ifs in my head, lamenting a missed pass protection or a linebacker gap, or a fumble, or a right goalpost, or a timeout to force a review, or anything like that. Not me, bub, not me in the least.

I have found extra time in my day thanks to eliminating College Football talk radio from my life. I mean, who wants to constantly relive the agony really needs that when there’s roses to smell? Luckily I can easily do without it.

I was expecting to swear off of college football for a while, at least until bowl season starts (maybe 12/16?), but then I remembered we still have an important game on the immediate horizon. The Black Knights and the Midshipmen renew their annual rivalry this Saturday, and have the stage all to themselves. This year, the game will be played in Foxboro, and the community is welcoming the visitors. Local businessman Robert Kraft has apparently secured “Service Academy specials” at his favorite local massage parlor.

Of course the big news is the transfer portal activity. Over 1,000 student-athletes (snicker) entered their names in the portal just yesterday, and it is well over 2,000 names since the end of the season November 26th. Macondawg has you covered with all the latest updates for Georgia Bulldogs entries, as well as a few from other schools to keep your eye on.

In case you were concerned, Jackson Muschamp is still in the Quarterback room, along with and to a lesser extent Carson Beck and Gunner Stockton. Plus the supposed new class of Dylan Raiola and Ryan Puglisi. Maybe that’s not a surprise that Muschamp seems to be sticking in Athens.

But what about his father? Fran Brown split secondary coaching duties with Will Muschamp the last 2 seasons, but was named as the Syracuse Orange head coach last week. As this article mentions, he has fully adopted Orange in all aspects. Could there be a little cryptic poaching going on? And maybe a few bad feelings out the door? Voice inflection and full context would help here. Or maybe my emotions are raw.

I like to check out the Red & Black after a Georgia game to see how they rate each position group. Sorry folks, I’m not even going to go there. But I have included the link if you prefer torture.

Since we don’t care about rankings ‘round here, we’ll just skip right to the awards. The AP has announced the 2023 All-SEC teams, and the Classic City Canines are well represented.

On the first team, the no-brainers of Sedrick Van Pran and Brock Bowers were easy choices, and it was nice to see Tate Ratledge and his mullet get recognition on the 1st team offense. Malachi Starks was the lone Bulldog on the 1st team defense. Nazir Stackhouse and Javon Bullard were both named to the 2nd team defense. Van Pran has also been named as a finalist for the Rimington Trophy given to the nation’s best center.

That’s all I’ve got for now. I’m going to hit up @UGANihilist for some tips on coping mechanisms. Thanks for sticking with us, and as always...

GO ‘DAWGS!!!
