Tuesday Morning ‘Dawg Bites Ain’t Gonna Speculate

Welcome to Tuesday, Bulldog fans! We have successfully navigated a fall Saturday without Georgia football, and now find ourselves on the precipice of the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party. Welcome to Hate Week 2 of the 2023 season! On a related note, gators eat boogers.

Turning over so many stars on defense, losing a generational storybook quarterback, and even the OC old-is-new-again change... all those things led to questions about the 2023 Georgia Bulldogs. Then you have some uninspiring performances, getting behind conference rivals you have no business losing to, and even lack of domination against a overmatched opponent. Yep, more questions. I won’t even start on the injuries. In the face of these questions, you might be led to Speculate. You know who isn’t speculating? Coach Kirby Smart.

The Head Bulldog held his Monday press conference in typical fashion. He was succinct and he deflected like a pro. He also didn’t speculate. You want to know how Brock Bowers rehab is going? Nope. How is the program feeling about the current win streak? Uh-uh. You’ve complained you miss out on recruiting visits with this neutral site game - you still feel that way? Not gonna do it.

The top ‘Dawg also refused to speculate on injuries (as normal). He didn’t commit on RB Roderick Robinson, and only confirmed Tate Ratledge is on the same path. For the two injured offensive tackles, he didn’t speculate on their return but said both are able to practice.

Wide receivers banged up, only half the running backs available, tackles dropping like flies, and even Unicorn1 on the IR. Add all these up and one might speculate who will step up? in Dawgs Daily takes a look at some of the candidates for “next man up”.

Totally off topic: I do like to speculate that Arch Manning will get some snaps against BYU while starting Longhorn QB Quinn Ewers rehabs an injury.

If you play the ponies, you might enjoy knowing that the Georgia Bulldogs are not the betting favorite to win the CFP National Championship for the first time all season. The Michigan Wolverines now have the best odds to capture the trophy. I would say that’s a sign of something, but Jim Harbaugh stole it.

We may not be the favorite for Vegas, but the Georgia Bulldogs are still the favorite of the AP Voters. UGA now owns the 3rd longest stay at #1 in the history of the Associated Press.

Just when you thought we might be done with Gary, they pulled us back in. The gametime and broadcast partner for Georgia-Missouri on November 4 has been announced. With so few SEC matchups November 18th (Georgia at UT, Florida at Missouri, Kentucky at South Carolina), and November 11th being nothing but SEC matchups (Ole Miss comes to Athens) I wonder if we will see the CBS crew much more.

Feel free to speculate on what we should be paying attention to, or postulate why dried nasal mucus is consumed in such quantities below Valdosta. And as always...

GO ‘DAWGS!!!
