Everyone has their own, deeply Personal reasons for hating the Florida Gators. Like fingerprints and wands from the Harry Potter movies no two are alike.

For me it’s a combination of growing up south of Dublin and doing so in the 1990’s, when a certain smug visor wearing son-of-a-gun was cracking wise while cracking Ray Goff and Jim Donnan’s backs. Others have family or professional connections that make losing to the Sunshine State Saurians unbearable. Some just hate the color orange.

All of those reasons are valid. Hating Florida is like the appellate doctrine of “right for any reason.” We don’t care how you get there, just so long as you loathe the Gators entirely, with every fiber of your being.
