It’s here, y’all. After two tune-ups for the Dawgs, we begin our SEC season (at least for one week) as we welcome the Gamecocks to Sanford Stadium. I hope some of the fifth years that were around in 2019 ensure the team doesn’t lose focus and reminds them what can happen on an off day. As we prep for a great gameday in Athens, let’s check-in around the league to see who is making headlines.

Here’s what’s happening around the SEC.

• Things are not going well in Tuscaloosa. From extremely poor fan behavior to calls for Arch Manning to transfer there, this is as volatile it’s been since Saban arrived.
• In the stinkiest line of the week, Tennessee is only a 7.5-point favorite heading into Gainesville to take on the Gators. One the one hand, Florida isn’t good. On the other, Joe Milton doesn’t appear to be Hendon Hooker yet, and history is on the Gators’ side. Proceed with caution on both sides.
• Kentucky offensive coordinator Liam Coen was hospitalized after sustaining what is being described as a “medical episode. Our thoughts and prayers are with him as he recovers.
• Texas A&M DL Shemar Turner, who leads the team in sacks, was arrested for reckless driving. Both Kirby Smart and Mark Richt have lost control over the Aggies.
