Woodring’s commit caps off big recruiting week

Set Number: X161407 TK1

Georgia’s torrid pace on the recruiting trail continued on Saturday.

Having already raked in two commitments in the past week - one a five-star - the Dawgs added to their haul with the Commitment of placekicker Peyton Woodring out of Lafayette, La.

Georgia beat out Alabama for the commitment of Woodring, who is rated as a five-star.

His arrival, though not immediate, will come into play in the long haul as this year is Jack Podlesny’s final one in Athens with another kicker, Jared Zirkel also on the roster, so look for Zirkel and Woodring to be expected to compete for and push one another in the placekicker role.

Miller’s commit may not have directly beat out the Crimson Tide, but it’s one that should excite Georgia fans for one reason if nothing else - that the Dawgs flipped him from a commitment to Penn State. As of now, he’s the third offensive line commitment for the current signing class, joining Bo Hughley and RyQueze McElderry.

And then there was AJ Harris pledging Georgia earlier this week.

Having previously placed Florida, Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame and Ohio State among his leaders, he publicly announced his commitment to Georgia on Thursday.

Go Dawgs!
