Second Half Open Thread: Baby Seals Would’ve Probably Scored At Least 3.

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

No one Expected Vanderbilt to be up at the half.

But I don’t know that anyone expected them to be flat on the mat before the end of the first quarter. Georgia did things to Vanderbilt in the first half that likely should generate some sort of inquiry under the Geneva Convention.

It’s statistically criminal. The Bulldogs have churned out 334 yards of offense. The defense has allowed 50 (6 through the air). JT Daniels was a tidy 9 of 10 passing for 129 yards and 2 touchdowns before yielding to Stetson Bennett, who’s 9 of 13 through the air himself.

The UGA offense is averaging 5.6 yards per carry in spite of mixing in some late goal line runs into a ten man box. But let’s be honest, they could very easily be making this worse even than it is. Kirby and his staff are working situations and getting backups their reps, and it will continue in this half.

So let’s relax and enjoy the ride.
