Thursday Morning Dawg ‘Bites

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

It feels like fall up in north Georgia this morning. Send some of that my way, please.

I see where, at this hour, it’s about 53 degrees in Athens. Low humidity. Football weather. I am jealous. You know what else I’m jealous about? Not being able to take a trip up to Nashville this weekend and red-out Vandy’s home field.

If you haven’t seen this interview with Jordan Davis, tune in. He’s such an impressive young man in so many ways, but the way he carries himself is a major reason why our Defense is a good as it is. I think he’s one of those players that other players truly look up to. Gotta have that on a championship caliber team.

Vandy has lost their top running back to a season-ending foot injury and will require surgery. For an offensive that is already offensively challenged, this is a major blow. Hope the kid fully recovers.

The Senator has a sweet little tidbit on defensive back Kelee RIngo who is flashing. The sky is the limit for #5 on defense as his learning curve begins to flatten.

Top tight end target Oscar Delp has been named to the 2022 All-American Bowl. Georgia, according to most recruiting services, is favored to gain the commitment from this highly coveted player. He attended last Saturday’s game and watched another display of offense that prominently featured Brock Bowers and John Fitzpatrick.

I’m not sure how I feel about this...

This makes me slightly nervous...

How special is the 2021 iteration of the Georgia defense? Pretty darn special. Maybe the best I’ve ever seen, anyway. Certainly one of the deepest as well.

Have a good ‘un, everyone. As Always,

GO DAWGS!
