State of Origin would arguably be the biggest sporting event New South Wales and Queensland see each year. The annual best-of-three rugby matches between the two respective States is one of Australian sport’s biggest rivalry and draws incredible crowd numbers to each encounter.

Queensland which has the biggest rugby supporter base in the country, not surprisingly have won 20 out of the 35 series played, with New South Wales winning 13 to go with two draws.

Despite it being a domestic competition, it’s widely considered around the world to be the highest level of rugby anyone will see, even surpassing tests between major rugby nations like South Africa and New Zealand.

Queensland have been on a dominant run since 2006, winning 10 of the last 11 series between the two States. Even though it might seem one sided at times, the atmosphere around each match are second to none and match intensity doesn’t die down until the final whistle is blown.

All three games this year will be broadcast live and at the following venues:

Origin I — Wednesday, May 31 8pm (AEST), at Suncorp Stadium
Origin II — Wednesday, June 21 8pm (AEST), at ANZ Stadium
Origin III — Wednesday, July 12 8pm (AEST), at Suncorp Stadium
