January 10th 1982: "The Freezer Bowl"
Considered the coldest "Feeling" game in NFL history, the Cincinnati Bengals battled the San Diego Chargers in the Freezer Bowl in the AFC Championship Game. The game was called by some players to be inhumane at a -57 degree windchill with a -9 degree temperature. The temperature was not as cold as the Ice Bowl (Green Bay v Dallas) but the feel was worse.
The Bengals defeated the Chargers 27-7 and punched their ticket to the Super Bowl ultimately losing to another California team, the San Francisco 49ers lead by Joe Montana.
