The Anteaters of Cal Irvine head to Long Beach State on Wednesday night to take on the 49ers in a Big West conference game.  These teams are both hot and rising up the standings.  The Anteaters have won three of four to get to 4-3 in conference, although they are still just 9-14 overall.  The 49ers have won three straight, including a 70-66 road win at Northridge in their latest.  They are 6-2 in conference and 12-12 overall. On the offensive end, Long Beach State is the better team, putting up five more points per game than the Anteaters.  Surprisingly, considering their records, but UC Irvine is much better on the defensive side of the ball, giving up only 69.7 points per game.  Long Beach State gives up exactly 10 more points per game, giving up 79.7 themselves.
