At the start of the current Premiership season, Mark Harrod installed new UEFA freestanding goals at Chelsea F.C.’s state-of-the-art training ground in Cobham, Surrey.

The goals, which are fully portable, and the same size and depth as the Stadium goals we installed at Stamford Bridge, are one of our newest products, and the latest of many Mark Harrod additions to Chelsea’s £20million Training grounds.

At 140 acres, the Cobham Training Ground is one of the largest and best equipped in Europe. It caters for all of Chelsea’s players, male and female, from the first team right down to the youth teams. We provided Chelsea with 8 freestanding goals, which gave the club the flexibility to train with UEFA standard goals on any of Cobham’s 30 pitches.

Each goal comes with fully adjustable UEFA net supports, free-hanging box nets, easy lift wheels and internal weights, allowing them to be transported easily and remain safe when in position. Using portable goals across Cobham’s training pitches have ensured that the pitches remain in pristine condition, especially round the heavily used goalmouth area.

We recommended the freestanding goals after consulting with the Head Groundsman of Cobham Training Ground, Jason Griffin, about Chelsea’s training practices and requirements. This process of consulting and recommending is very familiar, as it’s what we’ve done since we began supplying Chelsea with cutting-edge equipment in 2005.

Having installed the freestanding goals at the Cobham Training Ground, we will continue to work with Chelsea for the foreseeable future, helping to maintain Cobham’s status as one of the best-equipped training grounds in Europe.
