Some of you will remember that in addition to upping his game in the NBA, Duncan Robinson has also upped his podcast game by cutting the Dakich-shaped deadweight. Moe Wagner is today’s Tuesday and it’s a fun show. One of the parts that resonated with me is how Moe is talking about the big/little brother dynamic with Franz, and how it changes as you both become adults, since I am a big brother myself. (Also my brother’s husband is also German!)
Some highlights:
- Duncan admits we’re a football school, but low-key calls out the football team
- Duncan talks about his coup de grace and-one vs MSU in the Big tournament: Duncan yelled out ‘I DID THIS FOR MY FKN CITY’ but no one noticed because Moe stole the spotlight for hamming it up over a play he didn’t make
- Moe talks about how he made his peace with getting bounced all over the league last year

Also, John Beilein told the 2018 squad to come up with mantras for themselves: Moe dubbed himself the European Flamethrower

I'm not really a podcast person, but i just came here to say that for all the constant doom and gloom on the fb side, its been an amazing run in basketball - the fact that duncan and moe are years past their time here, and i remember it like yesterday... tourney runs, b10 tourney runs, big reg season wins, beating UNC, beating MSU, beating OSU, great moments. Its just amazing how fun it has been --- and its arguably getting better! That's all i got.

This is an amazing time to be a Michigan basketball fan. My time in college coincided with the start of this phase and I was fortunate to see it. Hoping to go to a few games this year.

Good post, I couldn't agree more. As long as Juwan stays this program should be a CBB powerhouse for years to come. I am super excited for November.

LOL no kidding. I'll take this "Off Topic" talk over another apparently "On Topic" Charbonnet thread by Ezekiel any day.

My freshman year was 3-9 rich rod…but I was rewarded with resurgence of our basketball program that carried my class through football doldrums. Our program has come such a long way from anxiously awaiting selection Sunday to see if we were tourney bound with manny Harris and deshawn sims. Those guys put Michigan back on the right track and I wish they got more love from the program. Bball will forever have a special place for me and my buddies who went to both final fours we made unde coach b.

Eyyy class of 2012 represent! I hope you at least got to enjoy the Wisconsin comeback. My gf convinced me to leave at the beginning of the third quarter. Missed out on the only blip of joy that year. Like you, basketball got me through those years. I'm not sure I'd still be such a big Michigan if not for those teams giving us relief from the agony of football season.
Finishing with year one of Hoke was fun, though.
I was able to get courtside seats with my old college roommate for the Elite Eight game against FSU at the Staple Center. Ugly game, but up there with the ND comeback, storming the field after the last home game as a student vs. OSU, and going to New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl.

What's the pants situation with the dude on the left and Duncan?
I thought at first Duncan had regular pants on but his build stipulates that the pants must ride up and look like capris. Then I look over at the other guy and he's got the same situation going? The other guy seems to have a more average build so I find it hard to believe the "pant-to-capri" phenomenon is happening to two guys at the exact same time in the exact same place.
Is the guy on the left wearing capris and Duncan just has tall person problems? Are they both wearing capris? Are capris for guys in right now?

Looking forward to listening. My brother was 7 years older than me. We were always close as brothers, but I wouldn't say we were friends until I graduated high school and visited him in Europe. It's not like we were really hanging out as friends when he was 18 and I was 11.
