Food Processor
Plastic Wrap
Sharp Knife
3/4 cup (12-15 whole)
1 pinch salt
2 tablespoons of
1/2 cup (gluten free) quick oats
Depending on your food preferences you can add any of these ingredients: vanilla extract, natural peanut butter, shredded unsweetened cocoa, chia seeds or organic honey.
Add the nuts to a food processor and pulse until they form large crumbs. Then, with the motor running, add the dates (prunes, dried figs or raisins) and the dried fruits to the food processor.
Don’t stop the processor until you are left with a mixture that sticks together when you press it between your fingers.
Pour the mixture onto a large piece of plastic wrap. Form the mixture into an 8-inch square and wrap in plastic. Chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour before cutting into bars.
And Voila! You have your own customised energy bar!
You can keep the bars in the refrigerator for up to a few weeks or in the freezer for a few months. Enjoy!
