Lake House, Tropics or Sea Side: Find Your Own Beach Style

The waves, the sun and the sand. Whether your plan is to go to an all-inclusive, in a national park, or simply hang out at the Lake House, some classics will make your trip more enjoyable. Let’s just say that you have to plan differently according to your destination. Your bag shouldn’t be filled with the same accessories if you’re going to Mexico, Hawaii, the Laurentians or in Maine (mhmmm lobster…).

The Beach

Here, I’m talking about the real beach. Turquoise ocean; white sand; palm trees. Bonus: you lying on a long chair. Your only goal of the day: doing nothing. Yes!

To begin, the sunglasses. The Ray-Bans Wayfarer are a timeless classic – and they suit pretty much everybody. Plus, they are polarized – which means you will get an extra-protection for your eyes. The Billabong Essential and Dakine’s Duffle will allow you to carry your swimsuit, a change of clothes and your flip flops very easily.

Don’t forget your iPod and earphones!

The Lake House

Whether it be before hanging around the campfire or after a sea doo ride, one of the things I enjoy doing the most at the chalet is simply sitting on the dock with a cold beer and an inspiring book. I’ve been going a little crazy since we received the new Prestel book collection. The pictures are stunning and the content it great! Plus, they look so good in a bookshelf.

With my Herschel & Supply Co. cap and my hoodie, I’m ready to enjoy the sunset over the lake.

The Sea Side

One of the things I look for the most when I leave for a summer roadtrip is a port city or a nice little fishermen’s town. For example, one of my favorite spots near Montreal is Kennebunkport, Maine. I normally go there to eat an infinite amount of lobster rolls, but also to enjoy the nicest sunsets of the state and the laidback atmosphere of the town.

Even if the the vibe is pretty relaxed, I still like to go for a little sailor/preppy look. This is where George W. Bush’s chalet is located – so you know. My go-to option in the summer is always the boat shoe. You can make it casual or fancy in a second and it always looks good.

With a polo, a cardigan and a messenger bag, you’re ready for your gourmet adventure.
