A Warm end to October will be bad for Oklahoma Deer hunters, but good for the Sooner State deer. Even though the last several days have produced fall-like temperatures across, Oklahoma, above average temperature are likely for mid to late October.

These warmer conditions will likely keep the deer from being more active, producing less targets for the bow Hunting Season which is currently open. A warm end to October may also keep the deer inactive when the muzzle loader season opens on Oct, 24.

The deer will likely not become more active until it becomes much colder in November, which mean higher numbers for the riffle season which open on Nov. 21. If you are looking for colder weather, the average first freeze for Oklahoma City is on Nov. 4.
