PITTSBURGH (3 min read) – Diamond Kinetics is pleased to welcome Indianapolis-based facility and travel team, Baseball Academics Midwest (BAM) aboard as an official partner program.

As one of East Central Indiana’s premier organizations, BAM will add SwingTracker – the most comprehensive swing analysis system for baseball players on the market today, and Axon Sports Cognitive Pitch Recognition to create the ultimate training platform for their players.

As a facility that places a ton of emphasis on player development and cognitive training, Diamond Kinetics and Axon Sports’ technology is an ideal fit for BAM.

During each swing, SwingTracker captures over 10,000 data points per second while bringing data and motion analytics to players of all ages and skill levels. The SwingTracker sensor provides instant insight and actionable feedback across 11 different swing metrics, within the four major components of the swing – Speed, Power, Quickness, and Control.

SwingTracker also provides instant 3D swing animation, 3D swing compare and customized 3D batting drills. SwingTracker’s unique technology allows players and coaches to combine 3D, video, and data sync to pinpoint exactly what the bat is doing during each part of the swing.

Diamond Kinetics has taken special care to ensure the SwingTracker swing system is engineered to help coaches and trainers maximize effectiveness with each of their players that fits directly in-line with BAM’s mantra of giving players a well-rounded understanding of baseball and the hard work that it takes to excel at the next level.

With Axon Sports, BAM will have access to features that include unlimited reps and 15 progressive training levels based on cognitive protocols that have been deployed with professional and collegiate-level athletes.

These protocols focus on building accuracy, working with less information/responding sooner, and automating cognitive skills/reducing response time. These training protocols are available per pitcher in-app, allowing the user to build skill across different “types” of pitchers with varying handedness, height, release points, and types of pitches thrown.

The Axon Sports bullpen will include three base pitchers and a feature pitcher, set to rotate throughout the year. Users will also be able to join groups in-app and compete against their teammates.

Moreover, BAM will have Marucci Smart Bats on-site to deploy at moments notice as well.

With a cutting-edge design that incorporates Diamond Kinetics’ SwingTracker software platform into a single, all-encompassing piece of equipment, the Smart Bat represents the new standard by which baseball swing data will be collected, delivered and analyzed.
