Baja racing icon of Southern Baja Mexico, recently passed into racing history.

Mike was one of the first Baja Racing News LIVE's content advisors.

We met on numerous occasions at his outdoor motor garage in San Jose del Cabo. Mike told it like it was, he recognized the obvious differences in the monied teams and the local family teams. He guided us to one of the most compelling aspects of desert racing in Baja Mexico. The adventure.

Our founding company, Baja Safari, had already cornered the market in Baja Mexico, adventure. Mike shaped our service provisions to motorsports and news reporting to a market segment that we had never directed our messages. Fanatics and racers.

Because we were both officed in Los Cabos, we had time to go over the details and refine our work. Mike, thanks for being our local, secret weapon in mastering the racing marketplace!

Jeff Beck

World Famous Baja racing fanatic and renowned guitarist

Recently passed, Jeff was a constant source of great ideas for the racing community of Southern California.

Friend of Baja racing, Alice Cooper, said of Jeff, "When I was 16 years old, The Spiders, who became the original Alice Cooper band, opened for the Yardbirds.  That night I experienced the greatest guitar player I had ever heard.  Half a century later Jeff Beck is still the greatest guitarist, PERIOD - The greatest of all time.  He was a [my] friend and there will NEVER be another Jeff Beck.  Ever. "

Master Joe Perry - Aerosmith said, "Jeff Beck was the Salvador Dali of guitar, to see him play was to hear the ultimate 6 string alchemist create magic in a world of its own. With his passing, the world is a poorer place. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to Sandra. We share your sorrow."

Jorge Enrique 'Coco' Corral

Baja desert icon Jorge Enrique 'Coco' Corral, passed away on his 'Coco's Corner Ranch' on August 30, 2022, according to local news sources.

His ranch is an outpost on the central desert, many miles from civilization south of San Felipe. Coco was found, after he was working on his land, passed away in his back field, on his ranch.

Coco was a desert hermit ambassador, who welcomed visitors from around the world with crisp-cold water, chilled-cheap beer and a personality the size of his remote ranch.

His home is decorated with a slew of empty beer cans, Baja racing memorabilia and signed ladies’ undergarments! You hadn’t been to Baja until you’d shaken Coco’s calloused hand.  Coco had always seemed ancient, his gruff grin and close-cropped white hair seemingly unchanging for the better part of 20 years. Maybe that’s why his passing comes as such a shock.

Not because he was old, but because he was truly, immortally young-at-heart. As immortal as his land.

The Baja Mexico - magnificent peninsula, itself.

Don Francisco 'Pancho' Monroy Martinez

Southern Baja racing icon Don Francisco Monroy has passed into Baja racing history.

We join the sorrow that seizes the family of Sr. Francisco Monroy Martinez for the passing of 'Pancho' Monroy, as he was affectionately known.

Pancho left a mark on the history of Southern Baja, in the 'Valley of Santo Domingo BCS' (Baja California Sur).

A pioneer of the commercial activity of service and sales of Automotive Tires, his family greatly contributed to the construction of La Ermita de la Virgen de Guadalupe which is located at Kilometer 137 in the section of the transpeninsular highway between Ciudad Constitucion and La Paz, Southern Baja Mexico.

We respectfully ask his family's prompt resignation before God's designs.

Sr. Martin Avendano 'Caguamos'

We greatly regret the news of the loss of Sr. Martin Avendaño from the famous Baja racing team,  'Caguamos Brothers' - #20.

The Great Off Road driver in Southern Baja racing, multi-multi-champion in the Trophy Truck -BAJA Racing Truck class-category in the Baja Sur State Championship that was characterized by his aggressive and seasoned driving aboard his famous Orange Trophy #20!

This month, the Off-Road Community of Baja South is in mourning.  We send early resignation to the whole Avendaño family and the racing community, to which we all belong.

In Honor of the 'Caguamos Brothers', we offer this window to our friend.
