""Ensenada, BC - The Government of Baja California Sur has already responded to Roger Norman after stating that the Baja Sur 500 race was canceled because of the Mexican authorities, indicating that if this happened it was that the president of Score International himself (Roger Norman) did not have a contract, signed for that event. 

This was announced by the Secretary of Tourism of that state, Genaro Ruiz Hernández to the 'bcs noticias' website via email, mentioning that a press conference will be held tomorrow to give more information about the real reason that led to the cancellation of the 500 South Californian miles. 

Ruiz Hernández said that until today (yesterday) there was no signed contract for the celebration of what would be the second date of the "2016 Score International World Championship" and also making it clear that the same company did not show the interest of a year ago, already that there was no final route, a responsibility in large part of the company that Norman runs.  "There was no interest from Score", said Ampudia Rogerio Ampudia.

Ampudia Rogerio Ampudia, Undersecretary of Tourism in the Baja California Sur government, clarified that it is not true that the Baja Sur 500 has collapsed because of the authorities headed by Governor Carlos Mendoza Davis. The Ensenada native and former Off-Road rider emphasized that some meetings were held with Score's legal representative, Javier Tamayo, as well as phone calls with Roger Norman and the race director, Abelardo Grijalva, but a final agreement was never reached.

"Sadly Roger Norman handled a version that is not correct, since he did not show the interest that was needed for a professional event, he even had a meeting with us and did not attend, the original route was changed because he wanted it and did not take us in mind for this", said Ampudia. 

Ampudia was also disappointed in Norman and Score when he learned that while they were waiting for the green light to continue with the Baja Sur 500 project, that off-road company was looking for an agreement to move the venue of the event to Tijuana, "that It is something that is unethical and not responsible at all on his part”, concluded the Baja California Sur tourism authority.  

"As of today there is no contract and / or agreement signed with the Score International company, the times for the company were shortened and the design of the definitive route was not specified", said Genaro Ruiz Hernandez Secretary of Tourism of Baja California Sur Government.""
